Am I the only one who thinks that Burger Kings soda tastes funny? The Dr. Pepper doesn’t really taste like Dr. Pepper, the Coke doesn’t quite taste like Coke. Even now that they have the Freestyle machines, it still tastes wrong. What do they do to it that makes it taste like that?

Freestyle machines are like the fax machine of soda dispensing...you get the gist of it, but nothing close to the original. I refuse to use freestyle machines if i can

It’s all in the water-syrup mixture IIRC. Also the purity/quality of the water.

McDonald’s coke tastes better for those reasons, and BKs worse.

They could get lazy refilling the syrup I guess, then you would really just get club soda with a hint of whatever flavor you chose.

The Freestyle machines actually helped in this case, it tastes closer to everyone else but still noticeably different. It tastes watery and oily and the same time

Yeah, I always thought it was just my hillbilly towns but I live in a large city now and every burger king has the same off flavor. The fact that they’re all wrong in the same way is what’s weird.

Plus I always get something weird like Orange Coke and after the giggles subside after a few sips I realize it’s just gross.

freestyle machines are the only way to get certain flavors of drink, though. I can only get a fanta zero peach from a freestyle machine. You can get peach fanta and you can get fanta zero orange in cans, but not zero peach.
